Toast the start of a New Year with a Happiness Hour on the 6th Floor Terrace (weather permitting). Then learn about Positive Psychology, the science of happiness, with Catherine Sanderson, the Poler Family Professor and Chair of Psychology at Amherst College.
What role do money, IQ, marriage, friends, children, weather, and religion play in making us feel happier? Is happiness stable over time? How can we increase our happiness? Professor Sanderson will describe cutting-edge research from the field of Positive Psychology on the factors that do (and do not) predict happiness, and provide practical (and relatively easy!) ways to increase your own psychological well-being.
Come on, get happy!
