This Friday, our Solidarity Shabbat service on Erev Shabbat brought in an estimated 1,000-1,200 people. On the Wednesday before the service, The New York Times published a piece on the Solidarity Shabbat, stating that it was for Jews and non-Jews alike, which no doubt spurred many from our community to show up in support. Earlier that week, Rabbi Robert N. Levine was interviewed in the West Side Spirit about the NYC religious community response to the tragedy, saying, ““We live the exact values that the assailant repudiated. And we have no intention of ever backing down from them … No anti-Semite will dictate how we live — never has and never will.”
