On Monday, November 20th, we were so delighted to invite the Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom to CRS for the second time. This past summer, we had invited them for a presentation session to learn about the Sisterhood, an interfaith engagement group dedicated to forging relations between Jewish and Muslim women, exploring implications and obligations for interfaith engagement.
This meeting was a little more interactive. In groups, attendees read a text drawing parallels between Jewish and Muslim practices, and discussed the text and everything else under the sun—their experiences with faith, their relationships with others across different faith backgrounds, how they relate to their own faith and people of their own faith background…and the best ways to send text messages to their college-age children. An enlightening, engaging, and empowering conversation was had by all groups.
