This past Erev Shabbat, we were pleased to honor Dr. Jacalyn Shafer and her wife, Ms. Catherine Sull, with a Meyer W. Nathans Service Award. Dr. Shafer and Ms. Sull started the LGBTQ Committee; have served on Ritual, Religious School, Inclusion and Community Concerns Committees; and have participated and organized several family Israel trips for us. Dr. Shafter has served as an on-call physician to our clergy, and Ms. Sull served as Interim Executive Director. Their children, Yafit, and Ben-Ami Lev, are b’nai mitzvah of CRS. We are deeply grateful for everything they do for Congregation Rodeph Sholom.
