The Art of Chanting Torah

March 14 at 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Wednesday, repeating until April 26, 2018

In this class, led by Cantor Shayna De Lowe, we will learn how to chant the ta’amei mikra, the ancient trope symbols used in the chanting of our sacred texts. Our focus will be on chanting from the Torah. A basic reading knowledge of Hebrew is required, but students do not need to know how to chant Torah or read music. This class is a wonderful way to become familiar with chanting Torah, whether you have never chanted or have chanted many times before!
Note: This class is required to join the Adult B’nai Mitzvah program.

Cost: $90
