Rodeph Sholom’s presentation partner, Baruch Performing Arts Center, is proud to present a screening of The Cakemaker, a trilingual film love story set in Berlin and Jerusalem.
This film, a New York Times Film Critic Pick, tells the story of Thomas, a young German baker, who is having an affair with Oren, an Israeli married man. When Oren dies in a car crash in Israel, Thomas travels to Jerusalem seeking answers regarding his death. Under a fabricated identity, Thomas infiltrates into the life of Anat, his lover’s newly widowed wife. Thomas finds himself involved in Anat’s life in a way far beyond his anticipation.
