OFFSITE: Cantor Rebecca Garfein performs with Opera Ebony at Stephen Wise

Sun, Nov 19, 2017 • 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Opera Ebony, the oldest African American opera company in America, returns to Stephen Wise for this dynamic interfaith concert featuring spirituals, opera, and more. Opera Ebony performers will join singers from the Jewish community at Stephen Wise Free Synagogue in song and spirit, connecting diverse communities through a shared passion for great music.

Performers include Opera Ebony’s Helena Brown and Gregory Sheppard; Cantor Rebecca Garfein of Congregation Rodeph Sholom; Cantor Hayley Kobilinsky of Congregation B’nai Yisrael (Armonk, NY); Cantor Daniel Mutlu of Central Synagogue; Cantor Azi Schwartz of Park Avenue Synagogue; Cantor Daniel Singer of Stephen Wise Free Synagogue; and pianist Joyce Rosenzweig.

This concert builds upon the relationship forged between Rabbi Ammiel Hirsch and imams Muhammad Hatim and Ibrahim Abdul Malik, who are both affiliated with Opera Ebony.

Tickets are $18 and can be purchased on EventBrite.
