Our special guest at Erev Shabbat Services is Israeli politician and lawyer, MK Rabbi Gilad Kariv, elected as the first Reform Rabbi to the Knesset and third ranking member in the Labor Party.
Rabbi Kariv has a long and distinguished career in public service, having previously served as the Executive Director of the Israel Movement for Reform and Progressive Judaism. He is also a recognized expert on issues relating to civil rights, human rights, and social justice, and is the immediate past-chair of the Knesset’s Constitution, Law and Justice Committee. Over the last few months, Rabbi Kariv has proved to be one of the leading voices in the defense of Israeli democracy and the character of Israeli Judaism.
Our Erev Shabbat Services:
Share Shabbat with family, friends—old ones and new—and community. Join us for meaningful Shabbat worship, study and hospitality.
Each Friday evening the Rodeph Sholom community joins together to welcome Shabbat in a joyful service of prayer, music, and moments of quiet contemplation. Our Erev Shabbat service is a perfect way to end the week and begin recharging for the week ahead.
Everyone is welcome—no membership is necessary. Proof of vaccination with appropriate boosters is required and masks are optional—but strongly encouraged. See more information here.
