ELECTION DAY

Election day is Tuesday, November 3.

EARLY VOTING

For the first time, New York is offering early voting from Saturday, October 24 to Sunday, November 1. Dates and hours may vary based on where you live.

ABSENTEE VOTING

To submit your absentee ballot by mail, it must receive a postmark of no later than November 3. The U.S. Postal Service recommends mailing your completed ballot at least seven days before the election. To be safe, we encourage you to submit your ballot by mail by October 29.

You may drop off your absentee ballot at a poll site drop box on November 3 by 9 pm or at an early voting poll site between October 24 and November 1.

The deadline to request a ballot by mail is Tuesday, October 27. Please be aware that the post office has advised the NY Board of Elections that they cannot guarantee timely delivery of ballots applied for less than 15 days before the election.

If you are homebound and need assistance dropping off your ballot, an Invisible Hands volunteer will pick up your sealed and completed ballot and drop it off at the appropriate location. You can reach them at invisiblehandsdeliver.org/vote or 732-639-1579.

  • If you are filling out an absentee ballot, sign, date, and fill out the ballot with black ink. Seal your ballot envelopes with water only (no tape).
  • Don’t forget to add postage and consider using two Forever Stamps because of the size of the envelope.
  • The signature and date goes on the ballot envelope, which then gets placed inside the “official absentee ballot envelope” before being put into the return envelope.

Questions?

Engage Jewish Service Corps volunteers from the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan, who have been trained by the League of Women Voters, are ready to answer all your voting questions, including requesting and completing an absentee ballot, early voting, polling locations, and deadlines. You can reach them at voterhelpdesk@mmjccm.org or 646-363-6239.
