Chag Sameach and thank you for registering for first-ever CRS Virtual Seder on Wednesday, April 8 at 6:00 PM!
We wanted to reach out with some details in preparation for the first night Seder.
Timing
- As we mentioned in our Passover email, our seder will begin at 6:00 pm and last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. This time includes a 30 minute break for eating dinner. We will let you know when it is time to eat and what time we will join back together!
What to Expect
- You will sign onto Zoom with the link provided when you registered. Zoom will send you an automated email reminder one hour before the Seder with the link. It might be a good idea to sign on a few moments before 6:00 so you have time to get situated.
- On the screen you’ll be able to see us (Rabbi Spratt and Cantor De Lowe) as well as the fabulous Mara Zuckerman who will be interpreting our Seder into ASL. In addition to our faces, you will see the various slides of the digital Haggadah we have assembled. (Beginning at 4pm Wednesday, you can use this link to download and/or print the digital Haggadah.)
- At this time when we’re forced to do tradition in non-traditional ways, we will be both lifting up ancient approaches to Passover and also bringing in modern modalities.
Ways to Prepare
- It is really up to each of you how you prepare for our virtual seder! Do you want to go all out and prepare a feast and set a traditional Passover table? Great! Do you want to prepare nothing and leave the doing up to us? Awesome! Somewhere in between? Fabulous!
- If you do not have a seder plate, but want to have one for the seder, you can download a printable Seder plate here
- Here are some Passover songs to get you in the mood, played and sung by our wonderful pianist, Brian Gelfand!
- Want to start pondering some of the questions surrounding this holy day? Here are some to get you thinking!
- Here are some additional resources we thought you might enjoy along with some a guide to Mindfulness Practices for Every Step of the Seder.
A video of the Seder will be made available on Thursday on the CRS Passover page for use on additional nights.
As always, if you have questions do not hesitate to reach out to us. We are looking forward to beginning the Passover holiday with you in this new way. It will be an adventure and an experiment for us all and we are grateful to be together with you on this journey.
With wishes for a safe and healthy holiday,
Rabbi Spratt and Cantor De Lowe
