For decades, the CRS Food Drive has supported our neighbors, and during the last year the need has become even more urgent. Before the pandemic, 1.4 million New Yorkers were food-insecure, and today, 2.5 million are.
Please act now and donate to the CRS Food Drive at a level that is meaningful to you. We will quickly pass along all donated funds to WSCAH, Church of St. Matthew & St. Timothy, and the West End Fridge. Join us today to demonstrate Rodeph Sholom’s enduring commitment to providing food for New Yorkers in need.
West Side Campaign Against Hunger is a long-time partner in feeding our community, and throughout the pandemic, WSCAH has risen to the occasion. This month, WSCAH is running a Spring Surge to fund 25 new Mobile Market partner sites through which they plan to distribute 5,000 additional boxes of food, serving 15,000 people. WSCAH relies on support from the CRS family to work towards ensuring that every New Yorker can access healthy food with dignity.
The CRS Food Drive also provides financial support to other community partners, such as our next-door neighbors at the Church of St. Matthew & St. Timothy, and the West End Fridge. Last August, the church re-launched their Sunday Meal Program, with increasing costs due to adjustments such as to-go packaging, targeted volunteer outreach, and other safety precautions. For the West End Fridge, our contributions have supported their Tuesday Table meals, providing 100 sack lunches per week, and future donations will go towards an industrial freezer and other kitchen equipment.
If you prefer to donate by check, please mail your gift to 7 West 83rd St. with “Food Drive” in the memo.
Looking for volunteer opportunities? The West End Fridge is seeking food donations, volunteers to solicit local food businesses to ask for leftover food, and drivers to pick up such donations. For more information or to get involved, email email@example.com.
