Here is some food for thought: what do you think happens when kids who depend on free school breakfast and lunch face Friday afternoon?
Congregation Rodeph Sholom lends a helping hand with our Backpack Buddies program. Run by the Social Action Committee, Backpack Buddies provides a backpack full of food to children in need to assure they will have enough to eat over the weekend.
We are proud to be part of a nation-wide weekend meal program, which has been endorsed by the Union for Reform Judaism (URJ).
We have plans to help more people through partnership with other synagogues and churches. We have lots of different jobs that take only an hour or two. Some of our Wednesday morning packers pictured here are Linda Heller, Billy Rubenstein, Mary Harkavay and Peter Ehrenberg.
