Family Minyan

INTRODUCING FAMILY MINYAN

Creating a sacred community where each person counts.

Family Minyan is our Minyan option for families with children age 0 to grade 2. Each Family Minyan connects 4 to 5 families with children of similar ages and shared interests. Groups gather 3 to 4 times a year to do something together they all love. The primary purpose of each Minyan is to create meaningful interaction and connection among participants.

How do we sign up?

You will submit a form to let us know about your family and what you’re hoping to get out of this experience – the more information the better! Your family will be intentionally matched with other families with children of similar ages and interests.

What is a Shammash Family?

Each Family Minyan has a Shammash, an ignitor, who is tasked with scheduling gatherings and making sure everyone feels included. Shammash families will receive training from Rabbi Spratt and Cantor De Lowe, as well as support along the way. If you would like to be a Shammash family, please indicate so on your form. We will let you know if we will be able to accommodate your interest based on how many families register for Family Minyan.

What we will do together?

It’s up to you! You might consider meeting in Central Park for picnics, volunteering at a local organization, or celebrating Jewish holidays together.

If you have any questions email us at minyan@crsnyc.org.

To participate in Minyan you must be a member in good standing. To renew your membership or ask about your membership status, email the Membership Team.
