This message was sent to the congregation from the CRS Clergy on March 11, 2026.
As Israel confronts this time of war and uncertainty, we know the importance of showing up in peoplehood. For so many of us, financial support is the quickest way to demonstrate our responsibility.
There are countless organizations doing lifesaving and holy work in Israel.
- As Reform Jews, we especially value the work of Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion (HUC-JIR), whose Emergency Fund is supporting the community and campus in Jerusalem, and the Israeli Movement for Progressive Judaism (IMPJ) whose Standing Steady Together strategy is supporting young adults with disabilities and emergency assistance grants for those who are harmed, among so many other priorities.
- We also know that direct aid is the difference between life and death in these turbulent times, and no organization is quicker and more effective in this work than United Hatzalah, who is responding to missile strikes while carrying out critical humanitarian efforts across affected communities.
These are three meaningful avenues for giving in this moment. Whether you choose to support these organizations or others, please know how much it matters to stand with the people of Israel in these painful days.
Our people are exhausted, resilient, and enduring. Supporting them with our dollars, our deeds, and our daily prayers helps strengthen the courage and care that sustain Am Yisrael.
