Last week CRuSTY headed down to DC where they participated in the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism’s (http://www.rac.org/) L’Taken Social Justice Seminar (http://www.rac.org/ltaken-social-justice-seminars). Over the course of the weekend, our teens learned about how to be effective lobbyists and wrote speeches calling on their representatives to support the International Violence Against Women Act and the Disability Rights Act, visited the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial and the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, shared in Havdalah at the Jefferson Memorial, and spent time together exploring the Smithsonian museums.
