    Days for Girls
First Monday of every month, 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM
Help empower girls and women at Days for Girls, a grassroots non-profit organization that makes and distributes re-usable feminine hygiene kits to over one million girls and women in New York City. Overseen by Sisterhood, this is a great parent-and-child (age 11+) opportunity.

    CRS Homeless Shelter
    Monday–Friday Evenings, October 22 – June 12
Volunteering for a night in the CRS Homeless Shelter is safe, easy, and makes a real difference for our fellow New Yorkers who have nowhere else to sleep.

    Mitzvah Weekend 5780
    October 25 – 27
Join us for Erev Shabbat services when we will learn from passionate mitzvah-doers in our own community. On Shabbat morning, our youngest children and their caregivers will assemble food for Backpack Buddies. Saturday evening, we will go to West Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH) for Havdalah and to restock their pantry. On Sunday we will engage in mitzvah opportunities within CRS and beyond our walls. New this year, engage in the mitzvah of study with Rabbi Levine at his session, “Creating a Feasible Mitzvah System.”

    E-Advocacy
Every month, one cause is highlighted by the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism with an action item, most often to send an email to your legislator. Sign up to receive the monthly E-Advocacy newsletter.

    Food Insecurity

Rodeph Sholom is dedicated to helping end hunger. We invite you to participate in a food insecurity action that resonates with you.

    Backpack Buddies

Wednesday 9:00 AM, September through June
Help children by packing backpacks with food so they are able to eat on the weekends. Volunteers are needed Wednesday mornings to pack the backpacks and Friday mornings to deliver them to our partners.

    OFFSITE: St. Xavier’s Soup Kitchen

    Sunday 11:45 AM | FEB 9 • APR 5 (with Sisterhood)
Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve meals to visitors at the St. Xavier’s Soup Kitchen in Chelsea.

    Food Drive

The Rodeph Sholom Food Drive raises funds twice a year and partners with three local organizations to distribute food throughout our community. We hope you’ll donate generously when you receive the biannual Food Drive letter in the mail.
