Shabbat Shuvah – Friday, Sept. 25 at 6:00 PM
Sep 23 , 2020/Category

The Shabbat between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur is Shabbat Shuvah. With its root in teshuvah, return, the High Holy Day theme of repentance is emphasized at this special Erev Shabbat service. We all make mistakes, we are human, but we can return to a good path to become a better person. In this solemn service, together we will prepare for Yom Kippur.

Shabbat Shuvah gives us the extraordinary moment to pay tribute to the late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Rabbi Levine will honor her legacy as her name will be recalled in loving memory and again during Yizkor service on Yom Kippur afternoon. The service will also feature our Cantorial Intern Olivia Brodsky singing a memorial tribute.

We will hear from fellow congregant, our special speaker for this service, Dr. Jeffrey Passick. Dr. Passick will share his personal experience of surviving COVID and returning to work at the same hospital where he contracted the virus. How does this affect one’s life? Does it change me? Moreover, what can these Days of Awe mean to me now? Join us as Dr. Passick addresses these compelling personal questions.

Watch the Shabbat Shuvah service as it streams live on the CRS website and the CRS Facebook page.
