Caring for medical concerns = Lost Income
The Healthy Families Act would correct this problem. Be part of the solution and click here.
The Healthy Family Act will enable employees to balance their care-giving duties and work obligations. It requires employers to permit employees to earn up to 7 job-protected paid sick days every year. This time may be used to:
- Attend employee’s own medical needs;
- Care for the medical needs of a child, parent, or domestic partner;
- Seek medical attention;
- Assist a related person; or
- Take legal action or engage in other activities related to domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking.
This law balances the needs of employees with the potential economic impact upon employers. It only applies to employers that have 15 or more full-time workers, and it will help to keep the workplace healthy by allowing workers to recover from an illness instead of spreading germs.
Help working families nationwide by enabling them to have paid sick days. Urge your Members of Congress support the Healthy Families Act.
