Mazel Tov to CRS teen Benjamin Waner, whose article, “I’m Korean and Jewish. The college essay forced me to confront how I’m seen — and how I want to be seen,” was recently published in the New York Jewish Week as part of its Teen Journalism Fellowship.
In the piece, Benjamin reflects on his Korean and Jewish identities and the questions many teens face about how they present themselves during the college admissions process. Drawing on his own experiences and conversations with other students and a college counselor, he explores what it means to embrace the different identities that make us who we are.
