Spring in April brings us Passover, Yom HaShoah, and Yom Ha’atzmaut. It is a time of remembrance and hopefulness. To appreciate the urgency of freedom, to remember that our past struggles were not that long ago, that we might have come far, but that we still have far to go.
During this time when we are wondering what tomorrow will bring, Rabbi Levine speaks to us of the power of community, of staying strong together to overcome distress, of making things better together, and of the light that always follows the darkness.
While we make way for spring’s sunlight, let us keep close to our heart that even the sprig of green on our Seder plate is a harbinger of good things to come. It is imbued with renewal and hope.
“…And I can see the light of a brand new day, I can see the light of a clear blue morning, And everything’s gonna be all right, It’s gonna be okay.”
