Help Kill the Bill that Provides Easy Access to Gun Silencers
Currently gun silencers are regulated by the National Firearms Act of 1934, which requires purchasers of silencers to pass a background check. H.R. 3668, the Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act, eliminates this requirement, making silencers readily available. The use of a silencer increases the danger and potential casualties in situations of gun violence. When gunshots are silenced, people do not know that they must quickly get out of harm’s way, and law enforcement officers cannot recognize and find an active shooter.
