Earlier this month, Congregation Rodeph Sholom was honored to be recognized at West Side Campaign Against Hunger’s (WSCAH) Annual Plentiful Plates luncheon — a meaningful afternoon celebrating partnership, service, and a shared commitment to addressing food insecurity in New York City.
For decades, CRS has proudly partnered with WSCAH through our CRS Feeds initiative, working together to ensure that all New Yorkers have access to healthy food with dignity. This year, we were especially proud to see our Clergy Team recognized for their ongoing leadership and dedication to this work.
Despite a rainy afternoon, nearly 200 supporters gathered at Tavern on the Green, filling the room with energy, generosity, and a deep sense of purpose. The program was emceed by Emmy Award–winning anchor Tashanea Whitlow, with special guest Justin Tuck, former New York Giant and two-time Super Bowl Champion, offering reflections on leadership, gratitude, and giving back. Their remarks underscored the importance of community in addressing the very real challenges of food insecurity.
One of the most memorable aspects of the event was a hands-on volunteer activity, where guests assembled healthy snack kits for children in food-insecure households. This moment of shared service reflected the heart of WSCAH’s mission — and the values that guide our work at CRS.
We are deeply grateful to WSCAH for this recognition, and to the many members of our community who continue to support CRS Feeds and related initiatives. Partnerships like this remind us that meaningful change happens when communities come together with compassion and purpose.
Together, we remain committed to building a stronger, healthier, and more equitable New York for all.
