Sigd: Celebrating Past, Future & Present in the UWS

Fifty days after Yom Kippur, we celebrate the Sigd, an ancient Jewish holiday, that has been observed for centuries by the Jewish Ethiopian community.
Join us to learn more about the holiday with David Mihret, Director of the North American Conference on Ethiopian Jewry (NACOEJ)-Israel, that will share, first-hand, about the holiday, its history, traditions and cultural meanings, we’ll also explore the ways in which it is celebrated nowadays, alongside David’s exciting personal story.
