Shabbat Morning Chapel Service/Shabbaton

Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 10:15 am

The Ethics of War, Peace, and Against Academic Boycotts: Israel in the Ivory Tower – Professor Michael Walzer, Professor Emeritus of Social Science, Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton University

Professor Walzer is a scholar, known particularly for his work on just and unjust wars; his most recent book is In God’s Shadow: Politics in the Hebrew Bible. He will teach during our Shabbat Morning Chapel service, tying our Torah portion into the ongoing discussions of war, peace, and the ethics of both in Israel today. Over Shabbat lunch, Professor Walzer will speak on his activism against the academic boycotts against Israel—why they are pernicious and why we must continue to oppose them.

Lunch will be served. Kindly RSVP to adulated@crsnyc.org
