Rodeph Sholom Blood Drive

Mon, Nov 7, 2022 ā€¢ 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM

IN PERSON

The New York Blood Center recently announced a blood emergency due to an alarming drop in blood donations.

Just one pint of blood can save the lives of up to three people. Judaism is clear aboutĀ pikuach nefesh, our obligation to act in order to preserve life; this commandment supersedes all else. Join us for our blood drive on November 7. Help us save 240 lives!

Donations, on average, take 45 minutes to an hour from arrival to donating to snacks. Donors from age 16 to 76 are eligible to donate (16-year-olds need their parent or guardian’s consent) and anyone over 76 will need a doctor’s note. For medical reasons, donors must weigh at least 110 pounds.

For questions or concerns regarding eligibility, please provide contact (800) 688-0900. NYBCā€™s Eligibility office is staffed by a Health Practitioner Monday thru Friday between 9 am to 5pm. Please call prior to going to the blood drive.
