A wonderful way to connect, learn, and eat, this year’s Lunch Together program will include engaging performances and presentations. All are preceded by an hour of schmoozing and noshing. Try it—you’ll like it! A dairy lunch will be served, and the programs are open to all.
A contribution of $10 per person is suggested. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
This month, we will be discussing:
Judith Roumani on her book, Jewish Libya
An anthology “capturing the essence of Libyan Jewish cultural heritage” that she edited with her late husband, Jacques Roumani, Jewish Libya aims to reawaken and preserve the memories of this community. It collects the work of scholars who explore the community’s history, its literature and dialect, topography and cuisine, and the difficult negotiation of trauma and memory.
Judith Roumani is a prolific writer on Sephardic literature, particularly relating to the Holocaust, and also the editor of Sephardic Horizons, a journal devoted to writings in the field of Sephardic studies.
