Join Rabbis Juliana Karol and Greg Weitzman for a day trip “down south!” Beginning with the Eldridge Street Synagogue (interior pictured above) we will explore the history and dramatic changes of the Lower East Side. In partnership with Big Onion Tours we will learn about the “creative destruction” of this ethnic neighborhood while visiting notable spots including “Jewish Carnegie Hall,” University Settlement House, The Second African Burial Ground, and sites associated with Rose Pastor Stokes, Ernest Flagg, Eleanor Roosevelt, and Robert Moses. Light nosh included.
We will meet at Eldridge Street Synagogue at 10:15 AM.
Cost is $35. This event is limited to congregants 13 and older. Two places per reservation.
