Refugee Shabbat

Fri, Feb 21 • 6:00 PM7:00 PM

IN PERSON & ONLINE

This month marks HIAS’ seventh annual Refugee Shabbat. Each year, Congregation Rodeph Sholom participates to demonstrate our commitment to the Jewish values of refugee protection and welcome. Since 2017, we have worked with nonprofits to resettle refugees, provide hot meals and welcome kits, organize in-shelter children’s programming, and offer pro se immigration application assistance. Today, refugees and immigrants in the U.S. find themselves in a dangerous and precarious position and need our help more than ever. This Shabbat offers us an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the work we have already done—and to focus on the work still ahead.

Share Shabbat with family, friends—old ones and new—and community. Join us for meaningful Shabbat worship, study and hospitality.

Each Friday evening the Rodeph Sholom community joins together to welcome Shabbat in a joyful service of prayer, music, and moments of quiet contemplation. Our Erev Shabbat service is a perfect way to end the week and begin recharging for the week ahead.

Everyone is welcome—no membership is necessary.
