Join our Cantor Iacono and the CRS Brotherhood for a morning Torah study.

We take pride in the verses of Kedoshim that assert our values (respect for the poor and the disabled), but what about its most famous verse that has inspired homophobia for centuries? The Torah has remarkably little to say about male-male sexuality (just two verses in the holiness code) but lots to say about other “abominations” that we accept in our modern sensibility. So why do so many religious communities still consider our hands tied on the “sin” of homosexuality while rejecting other challenging biblical laws about slavery, child rearing, and women’s rights? And what—if anything—does the Torah actually say about being gay?
