SUMMARY:Shared Grief\, Shared Hope
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER FOR ZOOM \nHear from bereaved Israelis and Palestinians who remain committed to peace\, reconciliation\, and a path forward based on empathy and honoring the humanity of all. Elana Kaminka and Arab Aramin\, bereaved members of The Parents Circle–Families Forum (PCFF)\, share the devastating common bond of having lost a close family member to the long-standing conflict. Listen and bear witness to their stories\, which transcend history and politics to shed light on the human cost of violence. \nElana Kaminka is a newly bereaved member of the Forum\, whose son was killed in Gaza as a soldier. She has been a peace activist for many years\, with the Tag Meir movement in Jerusalem. After her son’s death\, she wrote a letter to her Palestinian ‘neighbors’ (addressed to nearby West Bank villages)\, about empathizing with their pain and hoping for reconciliation. She has participated in Dialogue with other Israeli and Palestinian members of the Forum\, and this will be her first American facing event. \nArab Aramin is Palestinian. In 2007\, his sister Abir was shot and killed in front of her school by an Israeli border police officer. Arab is a member and activist in the Parents Circle – Families Forum. His father\, Bassam Aramin\, has served as the Palestinian Co-Director of the organization. \n  \n  \n  \nThe Parents Circle – Families Forum is a joint Israeli-Palestinian organization made up of more than 700 bereaved families. Their common bond is that they have lost a close family member to the conflict. But instead of choosing revenge\, they have chosen a path of reconciliation. Join bereaved Israeli and Palestinian members of the Forum as they share their stories of loss and their unique choice of reconciliation.
