Reform Community Chevra Kaddisha Training

Rodeph Sholom invites you to participate in the next training for the Reform Chevra Kaddisha of the City of New York!
Participants should register to attend one of two sessions:
February 8, 2026 – 1:00-4:30 PM
February 9, 2026 – 6:00-9:30 PM
Trainings will be held at Hebrew Union College at 1 West 4th Street.
Together, as the Reform Community Chevra Kaddisha of the City of New York, we will:
- Bring the elevating and grounding mitzvot and rituals of a Chevra Kaddisha into our Jewish practice.
- Care for our loved ones who have passed away in our community on a city-wide basis in a deeply Jewish way.
- Feel the awe of standing on the lines between life and death.
- Create community between progressive and Reform Jews across all of New York City.
- Build completely unique bonds within our society today while in the Taharah room or sitting shmirah.
- Take ownership over our essential Jewish ritual.
- Serve our community members with honor regardless of gender identity, ethnicity, sexuality, patrilineal/matrilineal descent, and financial standing.
