American Jewish Committee (AJC) and The Spence School are hosting a crucial conversation on Sunday evening, October 19, about strengthening Jewish identity and responding to antisemitism in today’s educational landscape.

At this program, Dr. Laura Shaw Frank, AJC’s Vice President, Center for Education Advocacy, will be in conversation with Sarah Hurwitz, author of the highly acclaimed and award-winning new book, As A Jew: Reclaiming Our Story from Those Who Blame, Shame, and Try to Erase Us, and former chief speechwriter to Michelle Obama.

Address provided upon registration*

Sarah’s powerful journey offers a compelling framework for parents navigating today’s challenges. Drawing from her latest book, she’ll explore how to:

  • Build unapologetic and positive Jewish identity as an act of resilience
  • Reclaim the Jewish story from those who seek to distort or erase it
  • Speak confidently about the Jewish experience in the current moment
  • Embrace Jewish “counterculturalism” and difference as strength

Laura will complement Sarah’s insights with practical strategies for engaging effectively with schools and educators about antisemitism.

Join us for this critical conversation. All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of As a JewReclaiming Our Story from Those Who Blame, Shame, and Try to Erase Us.

Space is limited. Light dinner will be served. Registration fee: $18 per ticket. Please feel free to reach out to education@ajc.org with any questions.

*Please note: As part of AJC’s enhanced security measures, the exact location will be disclosed upon registration confirmation to ensure the safety of guests and staff. All visitors must sign in with a valid ID. Thank you for your understanding and support
