SUMMARY:POSTPONED: Talking Torah Despite Deep Differences: The Greatest Glue Between Us is an Ancient Book
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO A SCHEDULING CONFLICT AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED \nOver a two-year period\, an Orthodox rabbi and a Reform journalist talked through the Five Books of Moses with candor\, humor\, emotion\, personal revelation\, and deep scholarship. They reflected upon (and argued about) questions such as what we owe the person we’ve never met\, what courage looks like\, and what it means to orient one’s life to what we have instead of what we’re missing. In conversation with Rabbi Ben Spratt and you\, hear what they taught one another and where they clashed. \nAuthor of My Jewish Year: 18 Holidays\, One Wondering Jew and Stars of David\, Abigail Pogrebin has written for numerous magazines and moderated public conversations for The Temple Emanu-El Streicker Cultural Center\, the Shalom Hartman Institute\, the JCC in Manhattan\, and the Jewish Broadcasting Service. She is past president of Manhattan’s Central Synagogue. \nA leading progressive voice in the Modern Orthodox community\, Rabbi Dov Linzer serves as religious mentor to rabbinical students and his hundreds of graduates. He has written for The Forward\, Tablet and The New York Times\, published hundreds of scholarly articles\, and hosted highly popular Torah podcasts.
