Haute & Holy Class Series: Hot Goss and Torah Tea
April 20, 6:30-8:00 pm | This first class is FREE.
The Torah isn’t all commandments and family trees… in fact, plenty of salacious stories abound. Over wine and cheese, Rabbis Sivan Rotholz and Arielle Stein will spill the tea about scandalous stories in Torah and Tanakh, the nature of gossip in Judaism, and how women were often looked upon as gossips by our ancient sages. This session is the kickoff to a new class series led by Rabbi Arielle Stein exploring how our modern lifestyles merge with ancient texts and traditions.
About the Series:
From “fit checks” to “What’s in My Bag?” videos, social media influencer and local NYC Rabbi Arielle Stein shows us what it means to be a respected rabbi, artist, and fashion icon. She is known for being a leader at the intersection of fashion, art, and Jewish wisdom.
This spring, she joins us to teach Haute & Holy, a unique five-part class series that explores modern ways of living Jewishly, and puts Torah in conversation with some of today’s hottest cultural phenomena.
You can sign up for any class that interests you a la carte for $36 per class. Or, sign up for the whole series for a discounted price of $125.
This unique class offering is part of a rabbinic exchange program with Congregation Rodeph Sholom. We welcome CRS students to join us for classes at Central, and next year, Central’s Rabbi Sivan Rotholz will teach a class at CRS, with spots for Central students to participate.
