Sunday, April 26 | 3:00 – 6:30 PM

How wide is the tent of Jewish peoplehood? Is being a “good Jew” dependent on your beliefs? Practices? Connection to Israel? How does one gain – and can one lose – the status of a member of the Jewish collective?

Join CRS and Pardes for an afternoon of asking difficult questions, hearing conflicting views and exploring the complex identity of the Jewish people.

Program Schedule:

3:00 PM | Welcome – Elaine Hochberg

3:15 – 4:30 PM | Choose from 3 parallel sessions:

  • Not Just Semantics: Why the Words for Jewish Collectivity Matter | Pardes Institute President Rabbi Leon Morris

  • How Far is Too Far: Excommunication and the Boundaries of Judaism | CRS Senior Rabbi Ben Spratt
