DESCRIPTION:REGISTER \nThis event takes place at the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan (334 Amsterdam Ave at 76th Street). \nWant to help create an “Age-Friendly Upper West Side”? Join us to learn more and kick off this new initiative!\nTogether we will brainstorm what a more age-friendly NYC might look like and then begin to work to make it happen. \nPossible areas of focus might include: \n\nTraffic and pedestrian safety\, including bicycles/motor bikes/scooters\nParks\, benches\, other public spaces\nImproving curbs and sidewalks\, including wheelchair and cane/walker accessibility\nSubway accessibility\nHousing affordability\nCost of living\nSocial isolation\nEase of access to resources that allow for aging in place\nEase of access to government benefits that are available for older adults\n\nDuring the program\, we will hear from members of the Senior Advocacy Leadership Team at the Manny Cantor Center\, who successfully led a similar project on the Lower East Side. \nLight refreshments will be served. \nFor more information\, please contact Rabbi Brian Fink\, director of Engage\, at 646.505.4408 or bfink@mmjccm.org.
