CRS Rabbinic Intern Jess Friedman was recently featured by Women of Reform Judaism in her article, Engaging Women Around the World by Just Saying ‘YES!’
Jess reflects on how her time at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in Jerusalem inspired her to turn feelings of frustration and uncertainty into action. Through an internship with the World Union for Progressive Judaism, she became involved in leadership development and progressive Jewish community-building, eventually helping launch “Voices & Viewpoints: A Global Women’s Torah Circle” with support from Women of Reform Judaism.
The program quickly grew beyond expectations, bringing together women from around the world to study Torah and build meaningful connections across communities. In the article, Jess shares how these experiences, along with her rabbinical studies and work in New York City, continue to shape the kind of rabbi and community builder she hopes to become.
