This Yom Kippur, our community came together in an extraordinary way to live out the teaching of the prophet Isaiah: that the true fast is to share our bread with the hungry and not turn away from those in need.
We re-imagined the Yom Kippur Food Drive in partnership with the West Side Campaign Against Hunger (WSCAH). Through CRS Feeds at Yom Kippur, congregants donated bags filled with the most-needed foods, and the spirit of compassion and action filled our courtyard. Volunteers of all ages sorted and organized donations, while others participated in meaningful advocacy projects and card-making for our neighbors. Together, we ensured that hundreds of New Yorkers will have access to nourishing meals.
CRS Feeds is not only about one day — it’s our ongoing commitment. You can continue to make an impact by:
Donating online to CRS Feeds, supporting our partnership with WSCAH to purchase fresh produce and provide dignified food access for families in need.
Volunteering at WSCAH, where opportunities are available year-round to distribute food and support their vital programs.
Our fast may have ended, but the work of feeding our community continues.
