Beyond Mitzvah Weekend, CRS makes a year-round commitment to help house and feed our neighbors. Add your strength to our work by volunteering at our homeless shelter, contributing to our biannual food drive, participating in backpack buddies, or joining our social action committee. Find out more at rodephsholom.org/social-action.
Blood Drive Help save up to three lives in partnership with the New York Blood Center. Sign up for a time slot before or after participating in other Mitzvah Day activities by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. 9:30 AM–3:30 PM (17–75) Remember to eat iron-rich foods the week before!
CRS Shelter Visit the CRS Men’s Shelter during daylight hours, meet experienced volunteers, and sign up to spend a night volunteering at the shelter. The shelter can only operate when staffed by volunteers.
Be an Advocate! Stop by the e-advocacy table to learn about how you can engage in a one-minute monthly mitzvah from your cellphone or computer and advocate for justice. Ask our social action team about ways you can support legislation and initiatives that address food insecurity.
Refugees and Immigration CRS is one of the charter members of the Synagogue Coalition on the Refugee and Immigration Coalition. Through the devoted work of our Rapid Response Taskforce and our Refugee Task Force we have advocated on behalf of refugees and immigrants and successfully resettled three young men, originally from Pakistan, with a fourth soon to arrive. Find out more by visiting the social action and e-advocacy desk on Sunday morning, October 28!
