On Thursday, February 7, BAILEN Band and their friends and family rocked the house! From James Taylor to Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac to the Beatles, we sampled the folk rock music of the 60’s and 70’s—and even heard some BAILEN originals. BAILEN is made up of Julia, David, and Daniel Bailen, the children of congregants Eliot Bailen and Susan Rotholz, who also rocked out all night on vocals, flute, and guitar. Featuring renowned saxophonist Sam Reider, keyboardist Pierre Piscitelli, and our very own Cantor Rebecca Garfein, the night included a moving tribute to the Beachnuts, the band led by Mike Gellman, z”l, Cantor Garfein’s late husband. People were on their feet and dancing! Coffee provided by our local Joe Coffee topped off the evening with a perfect “coffeehouse” vibe.
