SHABBAT SCHEDULE

FRIDAYS at 6:00 PM
SATURDAYS at 10:15 AM

At Rodeph Sholom, we believe the most meaningful connections often begin in small circles. Sholom Groups—formerly known as Minyan—offers powerful ways to build relationships, share experiences, and feel deeply rooted in our community.

These groups create spaces where every participant can feel known, needed, and part of something sacred. Whatever your interests or life stage, there’s a Sholom Group for you.

As of Monday, October 6, Sholom Groups signups have closed for 2025-2026 and our Sholom Groups team is hard at work on creating the groups. Please email the Sholom Groups team with any questions.”

How It Works

Shared Affinities

Groups are loosely organized around shared affinities, like an interest in food, culture or history. However, the primary purpose is to create meaningful interactions and connections among participants.

Regular Gathering

Sholom Groups meet on a regular basis (usually once per month). During the sign-up period, all groups will have their meeting dates and times listed. You should only rank groups that work with your schedule.

MEMBER LEADERS

Each group is sparked by a fellow member who volunteers to guide the experience and help foster connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

When registration opens, you’ll be asked to rank your top three group choices. Please be sure you’re available for all listed meeting dates and times before signing up. If you need any assistance, email sholomgroups@crsnyc.org.

An exclusive benefit of membership at Rodeph Sholom is participation in a Sholom Group. We will do our best to offer you a spot in one of your preferred groups. One element of registration is that it is first-come, first-served. You will be notified of your placement shortly after registration closes.

You must be a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom to join a group.

We will do everything we can to ensure you can be a part of one of your top choice Sholom Groups. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. You will be notified about your group placement after the registration period has closed.

Sholom Groups is based around small-group belonging which means limiting the size of each group. If your requested groups are all full we will prioritize your placement into another available group, or welcome you to be trained to ignite your own group.

The purpose of Sholom Groups is connection, which depends on the consistency of shared time and space. While we recognize that life and the world sometimes present unexpected conflicts, please only request to join a group whose meeting dates and times all work with your schedule.

Wonderful! Please contact us at sholomgroups@crsnyc.org and we will explore this together!

Testimonials

“My Sholom Groups experiences have been terrific and have certainly fulfilled all my goals. I have met great people, some of whom are becoming friends and all of whom I look forward to seeing around and interacting with. Our group is having a ‘reunion’ dinner next month, which I think exemplifies its success.”

“I cannot rave enough about the group experience. The topics were thought provoking and challenging in a wonderful way. The sharing between all the members was extraordinary resulting in a bonding and feeling of ‘extended family’ with all the participants. There were highlights with each and every session!”

“Amazing program. Love that it wasn’t religious but rather social ways to get to know similarly aged congregants in a fun way. Different fun events plus dinner once a month was perfect. I knew only one of the 15-17 men before and the one I knew was an acquaintance. Now I count most of them as real friends, so mission accomplished.”

Annual Meeting 2025

2024 Meeting Minutes will be posted soon. Please check back again.

  1. Fast internet connections are ideal for viewing, such as cable, fiber, and FiOS. Live streaming will not work with dial-up, and if you have a slow internet speed, you may experience stuttering or screen freezing.
  2. If your screen freezes during viewing, please try reloading your browser. Also try clearing your history and shutting down other programs and web pages.
  3. Google Chrome and Firefox work well with our Live Stream, while Safari can be less dependable. If you are unable to view Live Stream at all, please try a different browser.
  4. If you cannot hear the Live Stream, make sure you click “Tap to Unmute” at the top of the player.
  5. Sound is largely a function of the quality of your audio equipment. External speakers will greatly enhance the sound.
  6. If you are having trouble dialing in to services (audio only):
    • Dial (929) 205-6099 on your phone.
    • It will then ask for the meeting or webinar ID—Enter meeting/webinar ID (947 9181 4318) followed by #.
    • It will then ask for participant ID, but you can skip that and wait for it to ask for the meeting passcode. When it does, enter the meeting passcode (676 263) followed by #.
    • Once you’ve entered that, you should be dialed in and able to hear services.
