About the Israeli Hug Center
The Israeli Hug Center at Rodeph Sholom was founded after October 7th as a way to offer support in Hebrew to all Israelis living in New York City, whether temporarily or permanently. The community opened its doors to displaced Israelis who came to New York and needed a safe place for psychological support and connections to other services in the community.
The Hug Center is a home for all Israelis in New York City. The Center provides programs in Hebrew to Israeli families, parents, and individuals who live in New York. We are committed, more than ever, to support every Israeli who is in need. We know that the current situation in Israel continues to impact Israelis in New York City directly, and we thrive to meet every emotional need.
מרכז חיבוק ישראלי הינו מיזם חברתי ללא מטרות רווח אשר עוסק באיתור הזדמנויות ויצירת פעולות ותוכניות במטרה ללוות את חברי הקהילה הישראלית בניו יורק בצמים מרכזיים במעגלי החיים השונים בכלל ולאור השפעתו הרחבה של המצב הביטחוני המורכב על כולנו
מרכז חיבוק ישראלי הינו בית עבור ישראלים בניו יורק ונותן מענה ותמיכה למשפחות, הורים ויחידים. השירותים בעברית ופתוחים לכל ישראלי, גם שאינו חבר בקהילת רודף שלום.
המרכז נפתח בעקבות אירועי אוקטובר 7. קהילת רודף שלום חיבקה ישראלים רבים שהגיעו ונזקקו למקום בטוח להיות בו, לשיחות, לתמיכה רגשית וחיבור לשירותים נוספים

Erela Nornberg, LMFT, MA, MSc.
Founder and Manager
enornberg@crsnyc.org
Erela holds a Masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy and a master’s degree in psychology. Erela holds a certificate from the IPTAR psychoanalytic institute in child and adolescent psychotherapy.
Erela has more than 25 years of experience working with children in educational settings as well as with families. She currently works at the Jewish board providing MH support to child welfare. She is a licensed therapist in NY.

Maya is a licensed social worker with bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tel Aviv University, specializing in social rights and policy change. Maya comes to New York with a background in social action from Israel and experience working in social services with individuals, families, and communities.
