The 2018 Brotherhood Film Fest began after Erev Shabbat on Friday, January 26th. Brotherhood welcomed a full house to view “Follow Me,” the story of Yoni Netanyahu, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officer who commanded the elite commando unit Sayeret Matkal during Operation Entebbe, an operation to rescue hostages held at Entebbe Airport in Uganda in 1976. The mission was successful, with 102 of the 106 hostages rescued, but Netanyahu was killed in action—the only IDF fatality during the operation. Guests started with a catered dinner from 2nd Avenue Deli and then settled in after remarks from the leaders of Brotherhood, Marc Landis and Bradley Zizmor. Many thanks to Brotherhood—and remember, there is still another film, “Live and Become,” this coming Saturday, February 3, after Shabbat Morning Services.
