The Reform Movement is focusing its attention on racial inequality.
In September, 150 rabbis are joining with the NAACP on their Journey for Justice, marching from Selma, AL, to Washington, DC, to raise awareness of systemic injustices and overt racism in our society. While there are many advocacy opportunities that address these injustices, the Reform Movement helped draft the original Voting Rights Act of 1965, which was gutted in a Supreme Court ruling in 2013. The advocacy cards available to congregations this year will ask that Congress pass the Voting Rights Advancement Act, which would restore key provisions of the Voting Rights Act in a modern and fair way.
Please support our rabbis as they fight for justice. Visit the Reform Action Center and tell our lawmakers that we must restore protection to those most vulnerable to having their voting rights taken away.
