Second Day Rosh Hashanah Service for Families with Special Needs:
Friday, September 30th; 11:00am-12:00pm
(for members and non-members)
Come join the Rodeph Sholom family for a warm, inviting, musical and interactive worship experience! This service is designed to be accessible and sensitive to a variety of needs. There will be a Sign Language Interpreter and snacks will be available. The clergy and extended Rodeph Sholom family look forward to sharing prayer, Torah, music, and sweetness as we welcome in the new year together. It will end in time to participate in the congregational Tashlich Service in Central Park. RSVP encouraged. Contact: gro.cynsrcnull@sdeenlaiceps or 646-454-3124. Please specify your name, email address and/or phone number, number of people attending, the age of the individual with special needs and the nature of the special need (optional).
Identification and Security:
All members and guests attending High Holy Day services should be prepared to display photo ID corresponding to the name printed on each ticket.
Reciprocity Tickets:
Through the URJ, individuals who belong to a Reform Synagogue can attend High Holy Day services at other Reform Synagogues around the world. If you plan to attend another Synagogue’s services, please email us at gro.cynsrcnull@yticorpicer and we will send the appropriate paperwork on your behalf. If you have family that would like to attend services at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, have their Synagogue email the reciprocity form to gro.cynsrcnull@yticorpicer by Thursday, September 15th. Reciprocity tickets are free of charge but limited in supply.
Please don’t let your seat go empty. Help Rodeph Sholom welcome people who might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend services. If you know in advance that you and/or your family will not be joining us for a particular service or services, please email gro.cynsrcnull@gnitaes.
Yom Kippur Food Drive:
Bags will be given out on Rosh Hashanah and food will be collected at the Synagogue on Yom Kippur, Saturday, October 8th from 9:00am until noon. All proceeds go to City Harvest.
A Special Message from the Clergy:
Fasting on Yom Kippur is forbidden if it presents a risk to your health. Please check with your doctor as to whether fasting is advisable. Also, some medications cannot be taken on an empty stomach, so please be mindful before fasting. If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Clergy.
