Rodeph Sholom School

Rodeph Sholom School is a unique educational institution that is dedicated to providing a solid academic program informed by Jewish knowledge and traditions. Founded in 1958, RSS is the only Reform Jewish day school in New York City to serve students from nursery school through eighth grade. Our curriculum is intellectually challenging and firmly rooted in Jewish values and ethics.

We believe that the years between nursery school and eighth grade are the most critical in a child’s development. During this time, children establish the foundation that will allow them to become self-confident and socially responsible members of society.

Rodeph Sholom School is large and diverse enough to offer a stimulating and academic program, yet small enough to guarantee that every child receives the individualized attention he or she deserves. Upon graduation, our eighth grade students routinely attend the best Independent and Public high schools in New York City and beyond.

The energy of our students and passion of our teachers is apparent the moment you enter any one of our three campus locations. More than half of our faculty members hold advanced degrees, and many more are in the process of pursuing them. RSS welcomes the opportunity to invite you into our classrooms to personally experience the exceptional education our school can provide for your child.

The benefits of a Rodeph Sholom education extend far beyond the classroom. The moment your child joins the Rodeph Sholom School community, your family becomes part of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, a warm and welcoming community on the Upper West Side.

Our Mission: Rodeph Sholom School, a Reform Jewish Day School, fosters intellectual curiosity through a challenging independent school academic program in nursery through eighth grade. At the heart of RSS is a warm, vibrant community, where students are guided by Jewish knowledge, values, and ethics to become self-confident and socially responsible leaders.
