Adult Education Committee
Plans and develops the adult education priorities for the year through conversation with the clergy team and members of the committee. The classes combine the interests of a cross-section of the congregation.
Archives Committee
Has the responsibility to search for, preserve, categorize and promote all material connected with the old rich history of our Congregation and Synagogue Buildings, since its founding in 1842. It is a source of reference and information to congregants, clergy, students, teachers, historians, etc.
Caring Community Committee
Emphasizes the importance of the individual within the larger community. Activities like bereavement and support groups, Shabbat greeters, visits with homebound congregants, reaching out to mourners at the end of shiva with a basket of Shabbat sweets, and Erev Shabbat telephone calls seek to make Rodeph Sholom a place where every congregant can feel included and supported.
College Committee
Stays in touch with the congregation’s college students while they are away at school by sending “holiday care packages,” and when they are home for visits, helps to keep them connected to Rodeph Sholom.
Communications Committee
Oversees how the congregation communicates information about its programs, schools, services and special events to congregants and the community at large in a variety of media. The committee supports congregational staff in their work with our newsletter, The Chronicle, the CRS website, news releases and the calendar.

Community Concerns Committee (CCC)
Holds true to the name Rodeph Sholom, “pursuers of peace.” The heart of the congregation’s mission is the ongoing commitment to social action and social justice in the community at large. The committee sponsors special events and speakers and engages in advocacy on
pressing contemporary issues.
Development Committee
Recommends, coordinates and implements policy and strategy for the fundraising efforts of Rodeph Sholom. The committee works with staff and the CRS Board of Trustees on the annual Yom Kippur Appeal, periodic capital and endowment campaigns, planned giving and other fundraising efforts.
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Committee (GLBT)
Connects members of the GLBT community within Rodeph Sholom and in the broader Jewish community, and sponsors Shabbat dinners, the annual pride service, and family programming. Everyone’s input and involvement is welcome.
Israel Committee
Develops activities and programming to provide opportunities for the congregation to support Israel. Activities include trips to Israel, participation in The Salute to Israel Parade, and the sponsorship of two mitzvah projects per year in Israel. Ongoing speakers and educational programs encourage members to deepen their connection to and understanding of Israel.
Inclusion and Outreach Committee
Cultivates and sustains an inclusive environment in which all current and prospective members of the Rodeph Sholom community feel welcome and embraced, in all their diversity. Please feel free to read our Inclusion and Outreach Statement to learn more about the efforts of this committee.
Membership Committee
Welcomes and integrates new members into the congregational community and engages existing members in the life of the congregation.
One Voice to Save Choice Committee
Engages in political activism, sometimes with a multi-faith coalition, to protect a women’s right to choose and support family planning decisions.
Project Kehila Committee
Responds to various natural and worldly disasters which require immediate and ongoing assistance. Project Kehila was originally convened in response to Hurricane Katrina.

Religious School Committee
Works in partnership with the director of the Religious School, the clergy and education staff to set policy and oversee operation of the school’s programs.
Ritual Committee
Reviews ritual practices and through regular discussions with the clergy, shares ideas to help make worship at Rodeph Sholom as significant and meaningful.
Ushering Committee
Coordinates volunteers to usher for the High Holy Days.
Youth Committee
Supports and acts as an advisory board for the congregation’s youth groups, partnering closely with the Religious School and Day School on youth group projects. Special effort is given to continued programming for our post B’nei Mitzvah students.
