Brotherhood
Helps foster a community within Rodeph Sholom. Brotherhood seeks to make activities friendly to men who spend their limited free time with their families or who hope to meet and connect to fellow congregants. Typically there are annual sports outings, an annual film festival, Torah study with Rabbi Levine, social events with other synagogue committees and special events for Chanukah and Purim.
The Brotherhood’s voice mail is (646) 454-3102, and our email address is gro.cynsrcnull@doohrehtorb.

Rabbi Robert N. Levine, D.D.
All Congregants are invited
7:15pm
The Brotherhood of Rodeph Sholom is proud to offer a unique learning opportunity for the men and women of our community. Brotherhood Torah Study enables the adults of our community to learn with our leader and teacher, Rabbi Robert Levine, with text study and lively discussion.
This year each session will include studies with Rabbi Levine, as well as responses from a panel of men and women. Join us for this new learning opportunity as we weave the wisdom of our tradition with our experiences. For more information, please email gro.cynsrcnull@doohrehtorb.
Shaping the Jewish Man
Tuesday, December 11th 7:15pm
From Moses to Maimonides, Isaiah to Einstein, Jewish history is filled with archetypes of the ideal Jewish man. The Maccabean warrior. The Palmach fighter. The Sanhedrin scholar. The Nobel laureate. Sampson. Superman. Those who embodied brains, those who embodied brawn, and those who simply defied mortal limitations. Each era of our history celebrated men of all kinds, leaving us with the question: what makes up the Jewish man? What does it mean to be a Jewish boy or man today, and how can we best shape the next generation of Jewish men?

Flowing With Milk and Honey – A Search for Zion
Tuesday, April 16th 7:15pm
At the heart of Judaism is a simple search. An eternal yearning. From the gates of Eden to the shores of Ellis Island, Jewish history has beat to the dream of Zion, the hope of a Promised Land. Some believe the idea of Zion was the salvation of Judaism in every era, others believe we have realized it in the miracle of Israel, still others believe it is an ideology of conquest. As we celebrate the 65th year of the State of Israel, join us in study and discussion, as we search for Zion together.
